Home-hunters in Clayton-le-Moors invited to show home launch event

North west affordable homes provider Onward Living is inviting house-hunters to the unveiling of a brand-new show home at its Lockside Walk development in Clayton-le-Moors this weekend

The free-to-attend event on Saturday 17 May, from 10am to 3.30pm, will give property-seekers the opportunity to take a tour of the three-bedroom Bingley home – just one of the house types available at the development on Whalley Road.

With no appointment needed, Onward Living’s expert team of Sales Advisors will be on hand throughout the event to answer any queries and discuss the different buying schemes, including Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy, designed to help buyers get a foot on the property ladder.

Lockside Walk currently offers a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes for Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy, with prices of the Shared Ownership homes starting at £72,000 based on a 35% share.

Through the Shared Ownership scheme, buyers can purchase a share of the home, typically between 10% and 75%. This method requires a much lower deposit compared to the full market price, making it more accessible for many. Buyers only need to take out a mortgage for their share (making the purchase more affordable) and they pay a monthly rent for the portion they do not own.

With Rent to Buy, working people can rent a home for up to five years at 20% below local market rent value, helping them to save for a deposit to put towards buying a home in the future.
